End The War
Un-Civil War in Your Company
It looks like it is a normal day at work, then suddenly there’s a major argument -- worse, a knock down, drag-out fight between employees or the office staff in front of an important customer. But, of course, this never happens at your company!

Well, it has happened in mine and it happens in other companies. In fact, in my years of being a business owner, I have found myself right in the middle of such confrontations a time or two, sad to say.

How to end the Un-Civil War in your company?
Someone may be experiencing intimidation or someone taking their bad day out on others. Sometimes it's something really important, like: someone's pet dog gets called a blankety-blank mutt!?

Amazing, how these underlying situations can cause "silly" arguments can happen among us adults!
Ugly Mutt
It is up to the owner or manager, to separate these "Gladiators", sit them down for a meeting of the minds, and inform the warriors of what they all ready know, that their actions are unacceptable. If the battle gets really ugly -- short of their termination -- we can fill out a disciplinary document, have each of them agree to it, and hopefully get back to work peacefully.

However—has the REAL problem been resolved so it doesn’t flare up again?

Let's look deeper at most fights or arguments that happen in companies.

Our supervisors have been instructed that, if they see any employee arguing at our company, they are to bring calm to the situation first thing.

The next thing I expect the supervisor to do is to establish how the argument began, and then find the root cause.

manages putting out fire I believe most employee disagreements are due to one of only TWO things:

1) Some, personal non-work-related difficulty that an individual has brought to work or…

2) There are systems breaking down (or NO SYSTEMS in place), causing frustration;

In which case I further believe -- as the owner or manager -- it's MY or YOUR fault
.

Yes, it's your fault... if you’re owner or the person in charge of implementing and managing the systems that operate your company or department, and those systems are faulty.
How did our company fix the systems to end our Un-Civil war?
By removing the holes and gaps in our System Wheel. Read how we did it.
